Our Affiliate Communities

The Christian Community in Chicago serves not only the congregation in Chicago, but also a wider community throughout the Upper Midwest.

In places where there is not yet a resident priest or established congregation, groups of people gather as affiliate communities. These communities develop their own local life through study, conversation, festival gatherings, and other activities, while priests from Chicago visit throughout the year to celebrate the sacraments and support the life of the community.

The frequency of visits varies from place to place. Some communities gather regularly between priest visits, while others come together especially when the sacraments are celebrated. In this way, an affiliate can become a living center of The Christian Community even at a considerable distance from an established congregation.

Southeast Wisconsin

The Christian Community in Southeast Wisconsin gathers in the East Troy area and is served through regular visits from priests of the Chicago congregation.

Alongside the celebration of the sacraments, members and friends gather throughout the year to cultivate a local community life.

The Christian Community of Viroqua brings together members and friends in the Driftless region of southwestern Wisconsin.

Priests from Chicago visit regularly to celebrate the sacraments, while the local community continues to gather and foster the life of The Christian Community between visits.

Twin Cities, Minnesota

The Christian Community of Minneapolis serves members and friends of The Christian Community in the Twin Cities and surrounding region.

The community receives periodic visits from priests of the Chicago congregation for the celebration of the sacraments and gathers locally throughout the year.
